Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2, 2026

This policy explains what information Soma Labs (“we”, “us”) collects when you play our games, including Barn Fever! and any other games we release in the future, and how we use and share it. This policy applies to every Soma Labs game, whether or not it is named here. We keep it short and in plain language. If anything is unclear, email us at support@somalabs.ai.

The short version. You can play without giving us your name or email. We create an anonymous player ID to save your progress, we record how you play so we can improve the game, and our advertising partners may use your device’s advertising ID to show and measure ads. You can limit ad tracking in your device settings, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you first play, we generate a random player ID and a secret key that your device stores. We do not ask for your name, email, or phone number to play. If you later choose to link your account with a sign-in provider such as Apple or Google, we receive the identifier that provider gives us and, if you allow it, your email address so we can restore your account.

Gameplay information. To save your progress and improve the game we record things like the levels and puzzles you play, the puzzle layouts, how long they take, hints and reveals used, mistakes, wins, personal bests, which parts of the game you have reached, the settings you choose, and whether you accepted these policies or allowed notifications.

Device and technical information. We and our partners collect standard technical data such as device model, operating system version, language, app version, approximate location derived from your IP address, crash reports, and performance data.

Advertising identifiers. With your permission where the platform requires it (for example Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt), our advertising partners may collect your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android) and related ad-interaction data.

Purchase information. If you buy something in the game, Apple or Google processes the payment. We receive a record of the purchase (what was bought, when, and a transaction reference) so we can deliver it and handle support. We never receive your card number.

Things you send us. If you contact support or send feedback, we keep the message and any contact details you include.

2. How we use information

3. Advertising partners

Ads in our games are delivered through AppLovin MAX, an ad mediation platform, which may pass ad requests to networks such as AppLovin, Meta Audience Network, Google AdMob, Unity Ads, and ironSource. These partners may collect and use your advertising identifier, IP address, and device information to select ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure whether ads are effective, and detect fraud. They act under their own privacy policies:

You can limit this in your device settings. On iOS, decline the “Allow tracking” prompt or turn off tracking under Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. On Android, reset or delete your advertising ID under Settings › Google › Ads. You will still see ads, but they will be less personalized.

4. Analytics

We run our own analytics on our servers to see how far players get and how puzzles perform. This is tied to your anonymous player ID, not to your name. We may also use third-party crash reporting and analytics tools that receive technical and gameplay data described above.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only:

Under some US state privacy laws, sharing advertising identifiers with ad networks for personalized advertising may count as a “sale” or “sharing”. You can opt out using the device settings in section 3 or by emailing us.

6. How long we keep information

We keep your account and gameplay data for as long as your account exists so your progress is not lost. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal, security, or accounting reasons. Aggregated statistics that cannot identify you may be kept indefinitely.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, or California), you may have additional rights such as objecting to processing, requesting portability, or complaining to a data protection authority. We honor these requests regardless of where you live, and we will not treat you differently for exercising them. Our legal bases for processing under EU and UK law are performance of our contract with you (running the game), our legitimate interests (improving and securing the game, and showing non-personalized ads), and your consent (personalized ads and notifications), which you can withdraw at any time.

8. Children

Our games are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. In regions where the age of digital consent is higher, we apply that age.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and secret keys that are stored hashed on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Where data is processed

Our servers are located in the United States. If you play from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on standard contractual safeguards for these transfers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here, update the date at the top, and where the change is significant let you know in the game.
